Dr. Earl Nathan Woodard, Sr.

Dr. Earl Nathan Woodard has faithfully served as the Senior Pastor/Teacher of the New David Baptist Church of Christ since 1977.  At that time he was one of the youngest pastors in the country, taking over the reigns of our fellowship at the age of 15 years old. He holds a bachelor's degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology and Philosophy from Howard University, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a doctorate from Drew University.

Under his pastorate, the New David Baptist Church of Christ has grown from 25 members to 1,250 members. Our fast-growing congregation has been designated "A Model for Metropolitan Ministry" by the Southern Baptist Convention and has received other numerous awards and national recognition for its ministries to inner city African-American families, youth and men. His cutting edge scholarship combined with a common touch has reached a generation of individuals steeped in addiction, crime, and apathy.  He is a devoted father, teacher, preacher and pastor.

When so many churches are leaving the inner cities of America, Dr. Woodard is committed to evangelizing the lost, unchurched and forgotten masses trapped in poverty, addiction, crime and dysfunctional family life. It is his goal to see everyone saved, baptized and united with a believing Christian community.
